How to Orient the View¶
CartoScope provides several tools to help you navigate and orient your view of the spatial data. You can control the zoom level, pan across the map, rotate the view, and flip it horizontally.
Zooming¶
You can change the magnification level of the map to see more detail or get a broader overview.
- Mouse Wheel: Scroll up to zoom in and scroll down to zoom out.
- Zoom Buttons: Click the + button in the top-left navigation controls to zoom in, and the - button to zoom out.
- Edit the Zoom Value: Edit the zoom value in the Map View Summary panel at the bottom of the Layer Drawer. Double-click to enable editing.
Panning¶
To move around the map:
- Click and Drag: Click and hold the left mouse button on the map, then drag it in the desired direction.
Rotating¶
You can rotate the map to view the tissue from different angles.
- Rotate 90°: Click the Rotate 90 Clockwise button (circular arrow icon) in the navigation controls to rotate the view 90 degrees clockwise.
- North Arrow: The North Arrow icon indicates the current orientation. Clicking it will not reset rotation but serves as a visual reference.
Flipping¶
- Horizontal Flip: Click the Horizontally Flip button (two arrows pointing away from a vertical line) to mirror the map view horizontally. This is useful for matching histology images that may be flipped relative to the spatial data.
Resetting the View¶
- Reset: Click the Reset button (home icon) to return the map to its initial default state, including zoom level, position, and orientation.
- Click the Zoom to SGE Button: Click the Zoom to SGE button (the button with the SGE icon) in the navigation controls to zoom in to the SGE.
