Explore Collections¶
The Collection Catalog allows you to browse datasets grouped by key biological or technical attributes, such as species, tissue, disease, or technology platform. This view provides a high-level summary of available data, making it easier to find relevant dataset groups before diving into individual samples.
Functionality¶
The Collection Catalog enables you to:
- Browse by Group: Navigate datasets grouped by species, tissue, disease, or technology.
- Search & Filter: Quickly locate relevant collections using specific criteria.
- Access Related Data: Navigate to the full list of datasets associated with a specific collection.
Interface¶
The Collection Catalog is composed of left filtering panel and the main table.

Main Table¶
Click the name to view all datasets within this collection.
- Collection Details:
- Collection Name: The name of the collection.
- Collection Description: Hover over the name to view a description (if available).
- Link: Click the link icon to copy a direct link to this specific collection.
- Metadata Columns: The table includes columns for key metadata:
- N: Number of datasets in the collection.
- TISSUES: Tissues included in the collection. Hover to see the full list if truncated.
- DISEASES: Diseases or conditions included.
- PLATFORMS: Technologies used (e.g., Visium, Xenium).
- ORGANISMS: Species included.
- UPDATED: The date the collection was last updated.
Actions
Sorting: Click on any column header to sort the list by that attribute (e.g., by Name, Number of Dataset).
Filtering Panel¶
Use the left sidebar to filter the collections to find exactly what you need.
- Search: Type in the search box to find collections by name, description, or metadata.
- Filters:
- Categories: Filter by specific Tissues, Diseases, Platforms, or Organisms. Click a category to expand it and select options.
- N Datasets: Filter collections by the number of datasets they contain (Min / Max).
- Date Range: Filter collections by their update date (From / To).
Actions
Toggle Filters: Click the "Show filters" / "Hide filters" button to expand or collapse the left sidebar filter panel.
Using a Collection¶
Once you identify a collection of interest, simply click on the collection name to redirect to the main Dataset Catalog with datasets belonging to that collection.
From there, you can explore, view, and launch individual datasets.
