Gene Drawer

The Gene Drawer allows you to search for and visualize the spatial expression of specific genes within your dataset.

Functionality

  • Expression Counts: Displays summary statistics (e.g., total counts) to help prioritize biologically significant genes.
  • Locate a Gene: Find genes by name or expression count using the search and filter bar. Click column headers to sort.
  • Add to Map: Click a gene or gene group to add it as a new visualization layer.
  • Export: Export the full gene list to a CSV file.

Interface

Gene Drawer

1. Export/Filter/Search Bar

From left to right:

  • Export: Export the gene list to a TSV file.
  • Filter: Toggle filter mode to screen genes by specific criteria.
  • Search: Toggle search mode to find genes by name.

2. Gene List

From top to bottom:

  • Gene List:
    • Header: The header of the gene list. Click each column header to sort the gene list by that column.
    • Body: Gene list body. For each gene, it has a "+" button on the left, a gene name, and an expression count. Click the "+" button to add a gene to the map.
    • Footer: The footer of the gene list. It shows the total number of genes in the gene list and the page controller.
    • Gene Group Mode: Toggle the gene group mode on or off. In gene group mode, you can add multiple genes to a gene group and add the gene group to the map.

3. Order Settings

Controls whether new gene or gene group layers are added to the front or back of the rendering stack.
