Top Bar

The Top Bar is your primary navigation and control center in CartoScope.

Functionality

The Top Bar provides persistent access to global controls and tools throughout the application.

  • Navigation: Return to the home/catalog page or reload the dataset.
  • Tool Access: Toggle key analysis drawers (Gene, Factor, ROI, Inspector) and the Layer Controller.
  • Session Management: Export the current view (Image/PDF), share session links, create bookmarks, and manage user login.

Top Bar

Below is a list of all buttons and components available in the Top Bar.

1. Left Controls

From left to right:

  • Home: Returns you to the Data Catalog or landing page.
  • Reload: Reloads the current dataset. This will clear all your work and reset the view to the default.
  • Layer Toggle: Opens or closes the Layer Controller sidebar on the left, where you manage visualization layers.

2. Central Controls

From left to right:

  • Dataset Title: Displays the name or ID of the currently active dataset.
  • Gene: Toggles the Gene Drawer on the right, allowing you to search and visualize specific genes.
  • Factor: Toggles the Factor Drawer, where you can explore spatial factors and cluster-based layers.
  • ROI: Toggles the ROI Drawer, enabling you to create and manage specific areas for analysis.
  • Inspect: Activates the Inspector Tool. When active, clicking on the map reveals detailed information about that specific location.

3. Right Controls

From left to right:

  • Overview Map Controller: Toggles the visibility of the mini overview map in the bottom-right corner.
  • Help Controller: Toggles Help Mode. When enabled, hovering over interface elements will display help tooltips.
  • Export: Opens the export menu to download the current map view as a high-resolution PNG image or PDF document.
  • Share Link: Copies a unique URL to your clipboard that captures the current dataset state, allowing you to share exactly what you are seeing with others.
  • Bookmark: Save the current view state—including scale, layers, and drawer configurations—as a bookmark (requires login). This facilitates sharing specific views with others.
  • Profile: Manage your user account, log in, or log out.
