Typical Factor Layer Naming Scheme

Factor layer names usually describe the analysis method and parameters used to generate the layer.

Typical factor layer naming includes:

  • FICTURE - N factor LDA with Wum hexagons: a FICTURE result where N is the number of factors and W is the hexagon size
  • cell: Xenium cell segmentation (Xenium Ranger): a cell-segmentation-based result from Xenium Ranger
  • cell: Visium HD cell segmentation (Space Ranger): a cell-segmentation-based result from Space Ranger
  • sqW: Visium HD WxWum square bins (Space Ranger): a square-bin-based result where W is the bin size

What These Names Are Telling You

These names usually indicate one or more of the following:

  • Which analysis produced the layer?
  • Is the layer cell-based, hex-based, or square-bin-based?
  • What spatial resolution or bin size was used?
