How CartoScope Chooses an Alias

CartoScope resolves aliases with the following behavior:

  1. If the layer currently uses Manual or Upload, those aliases are shown.
  2. Otherwise, CartoScope uses the dataset's Curated aliases when available.
  3. If no curated alias exists, CartoScope can use the dataset's AI-inferred aliases.
  4. If no alias is available, the original factor ID is shown.

In other words, Curated aliases take precedence over AI-inferred aliases, and aliases changed in the Factor Drawer override both for the active layer.
