What information is shown for factor HEX layers?

When inspecting a spot on a HEX factor layer (e.g., FICTURE results with hexagonal binning), the Inspector Drawer displays detailed metrics to help you understand the data underlying that specific location.

The inspector information is organized into the following logical sections:

  1. Layer
    • Layer Name: The name of the layer being inspected.
    • Layer Type: The type of the layer being inspected (e.g., HEX).
  2. Header
    • ID: The unique identifier for the specific hexagon (e.g., 12345).
    • Top Factor: The factor assigned to this spot with the highest probability.
      • Color: The color code associated with the top factor.
      • Name/ID: The name or ID of the top factor.
    • Probability: The probability score (0-1) indicating confidence in this assignment.
  3. Basic Metrics
    • Coordinates: The spatial X and Y coordinates (in µm) of the hexagon's centroid.
    • N Points: The number of raw data points (e.g., individual transcripts) contained within this spot.
    • Count: The total expression magnitude or read count summed for this spot.
    • N Gene: The number of unique genes detected within this spot.
  4. Factor Probability Table: A detailed table listing the probabilities of all assigned factors for this spot in a descending order. Only non-zero probabilities are shown.
