How to Set the Map View via the Scaling Settings¶
This guide explains the Map View Summary panel at the bottom of the Layer Drawer and how to use it to adjust the map view.
Concepts¶
1. Open the Panel¶
Open the Layer Drawer. The Map View Summary panel is shown at the bottom. It displays the current state of the map view, including orientation, zoom level, and visible coordinate range.
Use it when you want to:
- check the current map orientation
- compare exact views between sessions
- verify the visible coordinate range before export or screenshot
2. Edit a Value¶
Double-click a value to edit it directly. Press Enter or click outside the input to apply the change.
| Item | Editable | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Zoom | Yes | the current zoom level |
| Rotation | Yes | the current map bearing in degrees |
| Pitch | Yes | the current tilt angle in degrees |
| Flip | No | whether horizontal flip is on or off |
| X | Yes | the current visible X-coordinate range |
| Y | Yes | the current visible Y-coordinate range |
3. Notes¶
- If no layer is loaded, direct editing is disabled.
- Editing X or Y changes the map bounds rather than a single point value.
