What is Subsampling Rate?¶
Subsampling Rate: The fraction of spatial points or molecules currently rendered compared to the total full-resolution data available in the active viewport.
It is displayed in the viewport status bar to indicate that data thinning is active.
What does the subsampling rate status label represent?
- Subsampling Rate: The ratio of coordinates currently rendered in your view compared to the total full-resolution coordinates in that specific area.
- Approximate (approx.): The rate is estimated dynamically based on data file size (bytes) rather than calculating a raw count of individual molecules/points.
- Greater than or equal to (≥): The displayed fidelity is at least the percentage shown. CartoScope loads data in discrete zoom levels (powers of 2), so you often view slightly more than the minimum calculated for your viewport.
