Linked View¶
Note
Linked View is only available in multi-sample sessions.
A Linked View in CartoScope is a spatial navigation synchronization mechanism across multiple dataset slots in a multi-sample workspace. It seamless synchronization of camera position, panning coordinates, and zoom levels across selected slots.
Link Group Color Badges
CartoScope supports multiple distinct link groups encoded with distinct color badges.
Slots sharing the same link group color badge synchronize camera movements with each other.
What is synchronized and what remains independent?
| Property | Synchronized | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Spatial Center (\(X, Y\)) | Yes | Moving or panning the map canvas in one slot updates all linked slots simultaneously. |
| Zoom Level | Yes | Zooming in or out adjusts the scale factor uniformly across all linked viewports. |
| Visible Spatial Extent | Yes | Bounding box bounds (\(X_{\min}, X_{\max}, Y_{\min}, Y_{\max}\)) remain aligned across synchronized slides. |
| Layer Configurations | No | Layer visibility, opacity, gene color maps, and spatial factors are configured independently per slot. |
| Slot Orientation | No | Individual slots maintain their own rotation angles and horizontal flip states. |
| Dataset Content | No | Each slot displays its respective sample dataset independently. |
