What are Layer Types?

Layer Type: The overall category of a layer. It represents what type of data the layer contains.

Layer Type Description
Background Background layers provide spatial context, such as histology or staining images.
Gene Gene layers show the spatial distribution of one gene.
Gene Group Gene Group layers combine multiple genes into a single layer.
Factor Factor layers show analytical results, such as factor analysis outputs or cell-based results.
ROI ROI layers represent user-defined Regions of Interest used for selection, comparison, and export.
