Why is subsampling necessary?

Spatial omics datasets can contain hundreds of millions of points. Attempting to render 100% of these points when zoomed out to the whole tissue would:

1. Overwhelm Browser Memory: Render lists of this size will cause browser crashes or out-of-memory errors.
2. Degrade Performance: Interacting with the map (pan/zoom) becomes laggy and unresponsive.
3. No Visual Benefit: Millions of overlapping points would simply render as a solid block of color at low zoom levels.
