What is Sample Label?¶

This feature is only available in multi-sample sessions.
Sample Label: a user-defined or metadata-derived group assignment and color tag assigned to individual samples (slides) in a multi-sample session.
How are sample labels created and assigned?
- Automated Metadata Grouping: Auto-assign labels and colors based on dataset metadata fields (
organism,tissue,disease,platform). - Manual Labeling: Create custom label names (e.g.
Control,WT,Treated) and pick color chips to assign individual slides manually.
Why use sample labels?
When creating a sample comparison, it's easy to assign samples to groups and to define group names by labels. Also, those labels are reusable.
