How to View the Marker Genes for a Factor?¶
The Overview Table shows each factor's top few marker genes at a glance. This guide explains how to open the full marker gene table — with fold change and significance for every associated gene — for one specific factor.
1. Open the Factor Drawer¶
Open the Factor Drawer and select the factor layer you want to explore.
2. Open a Factor's Marker Gene Table¶
In the Factor Chip Grid, single-click the chip for the factor you want to inspect. The bottom panel switches from the Overview Table to a detail view for that factor, opening on the Genes tab — this is the marker gene table.
Marker Gene Table¶
Each row is one marker gene, sorted by Chi-squared value by default. Columns include FC, Chi2/Log10P, and Count — see What Are Marker Genes for a Factor? for details.
Actions
- Filter/Search Table: Use Filter and Search to narrow down the gene list, or Export to download it.
- Add a Marker Gene as a Layer: Click the + icon next to a gene to add it as a new gene layer on the map.
- Expand (panel icon next to the factor title): Open the gene table in a full-screen dialog.
- Back to Overview (✕ icon next to the factor title): Return to the Overview Table for all factors.
Marker Gene Chart¶
Click the Volcano tab (next to Genes) to see the same genes plotted by fold change vs. significance (-log10P).
