How to Reorder Grid Slots

Multi-Sample Session Specific

This feature is only available in multi-sample sessions.

This guide explains how to use interactive drag-and-drop slot handles to re-arrange sample slide positions within the multi-sample grid canvas.

1. Activate Reorder Mode

  • 1) Open Map Toolkit: Locate the floating Map Toolkit sidebar on the left of the multi-sample map view.
  • 2) Toggle Reorder Mode: Click the Reorder Slots button in the second toolkit button group to highlight drag handles above all tile slots.

2. Drag and Drop Sample Slots

  • 1) Click and Hold: Click and hold the header bar or drag handle of the sample slot you wish to move.
  • 2) Drag to Target Position: Move the sample slot across the grid canvas to your desired position (\(R_x, C_y\)).
  • 3) Release: Release the mouse button. CartoScope will automatically swap slide slot positions and update viewport cameras.

3. Exit Reorder Mode

  • 1) Deactivate Reorder Mode: Click the Reorder Slots button again in the Map Toolkit sidebar to exit reordering mode and resume normal map navigation.

Alternative Reordering in Edit Session Dialog

You can also re-arrange sample slots tabularly by clicking the Edit Session icon in the top bar to open the Edit Multi-Sample Session dialog, where you can modify grid dimensions (\(N \times M\)) or swap numeric slot indices directly.
