Preview Datasets

Before fully launching an external dataset in the workspace, CartoScope generates a preview to provide full context by extracting metadata, metrics (e.g. cell/spot counts), and available layers from the provided URL.

Interface

1. Dataset URL Input: Enter the link to your dataset (e.g., from CartoStore or a compatible cloud storage link).
2. Preview Panel: Automatically populates with dataset details once a valid URL is provided.
   • Visuals: Tries to load a thumbnail if available.
   • Metadata Grid: A structured view of all available metadata.
3. Action Buttons:
   • Cancel: close the dialog.
   • Load: Launch the CartoScope viewer with this dataset.
